December 2018
An application, under Section 36 of the Electricity Act, for the proposed Shepherds’ Rig Wind Farm has now been submitted to the Energy Consents Unit of the Scottish Government for consideration. The proposal, for up to 19 wind turbines along with a battery storage facility, will now go through a period of consultation with statutory consultees including Dumfries and Galloway Council and Scottish Natural Heritage as well as the general public. The consultation period will run for longer than is formally required until Friday 1st March 2019 in order to ensure everyone who has an interest has the opportunity to consider the proposal and make comment if they wish.
All of the application documents, including the formal advertisement, are available to download here and are also available to view in hard copy at the Carsphairn Shop and Tearoom during opening hours. A copy will also be available to view at the Dumfries and Galloway Council planning office in Dumfries and at the Scottish Government Library in Edinburgh. If you would like a hard copy of the Non-technical Summary document or a CD containing all of the application documents, please email [email protected] or freephone 0800 980 4299.
